What is said about Lectures Différentes?

It's been half a year since we released our second album Lectures Différentes! This CD was our debut on Linn Records and we celebrated it with the first world recording of the piece that gives its name to the album - Lectures Différentes, by Peter Eötvös - and works by Stravinsky, Haydn and Pérez-Villegas. We would like to thank you for the great reception of the disc, and that is why today we are very excited to share with you the reviews that the specialized magazines have dedicated to us:

"Everything works flawlessly and at times it feels like you're playing an 18th century wind ensemble."

Musikzen

"A refreshing and innovative result, full of delicate nuances. A great demonstration of the subtle tones that can be evoked from the saxophone."

CultuurPakt

"Golden Melomaniac: 'These Lectures Différentes represent not only the hallmark of Kebyart Ensemble, but also a unique stage and musical experience of immeasurable quality."

Music lover

"Stravinsky and Haydn sound full and new - and as a bonus track Leonard Cohen waltzes."

Der Tagesspiegel

"... the title of the CD is borrowed from the piece "Lectures Différentes" by Peter Eötvös - which presents today's modernism in the most beautiful and dazzling colors."

Rondo

"It's their first recording and it's a good one. They've called it Lectures Différentes because of Peter Eötvös' piece on his first recording, a highlight along with his effective arrangements ..."

BBC Radio 3 'Record Review

"The strength of their ensemble playing is perhaps even more evident in the transcriptions on this album. For example, they uncover the harmonies of Stravinsky and Haydn in an unprecedented way."

De Standaard

"Kebyart takes full advantage of the tonal and technical possibilities of the saxophone...the transparent and colorful, extremely fine and agile playing of the four musicians results in an attractive and exquisite CD."
