New album on April 22nd, 2022!

Press Release: LINN IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH KEBYART, ECHO RISING STARS 2021/22

The young and energetic Spanish ensemble, composed of four talented saxophonists, presents 'Lectures différentes'. For their first recording, the group has arranged works from the standard repertoire, creating new and refreshing readings.

The album will be recorded in October and November 2021 in Spain and will be released on April 22, 2022 to accompany the band's tour of Europe's most prestigious venues as part of the ECHO Rising Stars program.

Kebyart says:

"Kebyart is very excited to join forces with Linn Records, a label that is synonymous with excellence. We share Linn's passion for high quality sound and musical eclecticism. We are also proud to be part of the Outhere Music family, alongside other artists we have always admired greatly.

The concept of 'Lectures différentes' is taken from the saxophone quartet of Peter Eötvös, and is somehow present throughout our album: from Pulcinella, which is Stravinsky's personal take on 18th century music, to the harmonizations of the well-known Spanish poet Federico García Lorca of some Spanish folk songs - presented here in a fresh version by the young Mallorcan composer Joan Pérez-Villegas.

To break the boundaries of the saxophone, we like to go beyond the origin of the instrument (mid-19th century) and propose new ways of looking at certain works from the past. That is the aim of our transcription of Haydn's Op. 33 String Quartet No. 3, also included here.

To conclude the album, we propose two little surprise tracks..."
