Kebyart & Dénes Várjon: ST/ART PROJECT
"A space for a few days to experiment, get to know each other, learn from each other, challenge each other and grow together, in rehearsals and concerts."
This is how Tobias Schabenberger, member of the Jürg Müller-Stiftung, defines the ST/ART project, a project supported by this foundation together with the RHL Foundation, which will take place next November.
These two foundations have decided to bet on our quartet and make us part of this year's edition with the intention of internationalizing our career. To this end, the ST/ART project invites a renowned musician to work with a young emerging ensemble for four days.
Thus, during this period of time, we will have the opportunity to grow with the prestigious concert pianist Dénes Várjon (Budapest, 1951). This pianist, who studied with György Kurtág, Ferenc Rados or Sir András Schiff among others, regularly shares the stage with Steven Isserlis, Miklós Perényi, Tabea Zimmerman or Jörg Widmann. Rehearsals will take place at the Musik Akademie Basel and will be open to students and the general public.
The project will culminate in a concert on November 27th at 6 pm in the Grosser Saal of the Musik Akademie Basel. Admission will be free and the program will include works by Pietro Locatelli, Peter Eötvös and Robert Schumann's string quintet, with Dénes himself at the piano and us as string quartet.
Looking forward to meeting you at the classes and the final concert!
